Recognition Rocks!

Oh people, I am so excited! I knew this was happening, because they asked my permission, but I held my tongue. Can't you believe it? No, really! I had a secret and kept my mouth closed.  I actually am rather surprised myself... so here's the deal:

I was published! It is just so rewarding and fun to be recognized for something you've done, isn't it? This is my very first time, so I am just tickled pink!

A Stickpin Holder that I designed and made was chosen for Enchanting Creations. It is on page 53.  I made all of the stickpins myself, with the exception of the blue square one in the front that was given to me from a scrappin' friend. Love it!

My ribbon wall rack that I made is on page 55, so that is an added bonus. Please, go check out the magazine, and tell 'em Bitsy sent you. It won't get you anything. It won't get ME anything. I have just always wanted to say that.

Coffee Filter Flowers

Hi friends o' mine!

I wanted to show you my latest adventure. This crafty process is sooooo cheap- and lovely! The pics truly do not do these justice. The cherry on the top is they are fun to make! I am working on a tutorial, it will be my first, but the ladies over at Flying Unicorn have asked me to try, and I have been wanting something to do a tutorial on, so I will give it a shot.

Okay, I am rambling. And you know how I sometimes cannot stop. But this time, I want you to see... So, before I go any further-- TADA! Coffee Filters, ink, and buttons. That's it. :-)

Glad you popped in for a visit!

Craft Organization? You bet!

Whoohoo! These are the shelves I found at the thrift store. I already had the long one. It is actually a tall skinny shelving unit but I laid it on its side, added the 3 new shelves ($3 each) and it is a perfect place for the printer. My DDiL hung my huge pink paper flower (HL clearance for $2.50!), and the wall words. She is tall and I ... well... am not. Another great thing she did for me yesterday was to encourage me to go on and publish my shelving. She took the pictures.. and did a great job! Thanks, Meridith!

My flower storage is mainly pint and jelly sized jars from Wally World.  I added lace to some, cause who wants to work in a room without lace? All of my flowers I got from The Flying Unicorn Store, and many of them I won from their Challenges :-)

There is a pin cushion teacup on the far right. I wrapped a "red tomato" pin cushion on a vintage pink hankie, plopped it down in the teacup, and viola! You can see it best on the last pic.- Interesting that MS Word did not correct me when I typed pic. - But I digress. I love the teacup! Of course, I stuck myself a few times, but no blood got on the hankie...

Let's see, what else... the shelves are within arms reach of where I work, so it is wonderful! My studio is truly taking shape, and so cheaply. Just got to keep checking those thrift shops!

Wish you could stay for a cup of coffee or tea. Thanks for stopping by my little corner of Blogville!

The Push-Back Method

Alright, I have moved things around in the studio, and I found three wonderful shelves at the thrift store. Things are starting to take shape in here, finally!

There is an issue, though. I am very good at the Push Back Method of scrapping. If you are not familiar, it is not hard to learn. Here, let me teach you!

  1. Create something wonderful!
  2. Throw the scraps in the collage box and the trash away.
  3. Push everything else, all the supplies, to the back of your work space
  4. Begin new project.
Now the issue is, I work on an old dining room table and it is wonderful, room for the laptop and tons of space to create... but since I moved things around, there is no longer a wall to push back to.

So, I keep dropping things off the other side of the table. Now explain to me why this happens?! MY supplies know better! Sheesh, you would think that by now, things like this would not be happening to me!!

Fine, fine,  my lovely DDiL is on her way over, so we will play and I will live to clean another day! Whoohoo!!

Just wish I had one more better system for the work space. Hmm. Anyway, thanks for stopping by!

Exciting! Artist of the Week

I have news to share! Flying Unicorn has chosen me as Artist of the Week. I hate to toot my own horn, but... you all know I just can't help myself! I am so excited about this!

I have just been having a wonderful time crafting, creating, and listening to my animals snore. Good grief! It is not that late, 11pm, but I had to turn up my music because the old animals were snoring too darn loud. Now how am I to be witty and interesting with all that racket going on?

So instead, let me share with you a few recent projects!

Have a good week, and thanks for stopping by!
